Life in the Bamboo

An enormous typhoon has hit Japan since last night. It's windy and raining heavy. I canceled all my plans today so I'm staying at home and watching TV.
Next day it will be definitely sunny. In Japanese we call such a beautiful sunny day "Taihoo ikka", it means it will be a fine day because tyhoon wipe all rain cloud away as passing by. To tell the truth, I thought that "ikka" of "Taihoo ikka" meant "family" until quite lately. They are acutally homophone, that's reason why I misunderstood for ages. When I noticed this misunderstanding, I was so ashamed of my stupidity, as it dosen't make sence at all if you call such day "Taihoo family".
I told my frineds this story at a bar last night, they bursted into laugh but totaly agreed with me as well. Because they also used to think so too and feel as same as I did when they noticed!!!!
