When I read an article on the Independent attached to Daily Yomiuri Sunday edition, the article talked about if smacking kids was one of discipline or just child abuse. This kind of topics was quite interesting that I read on. In the secound or third paraghraph (I don't remember) it pointed out whether or not smacking kids would help them behave better, and asked you how you would feel if your boss smacked and yelled at you at office. This question reminded me of my problem with my boss and one of my favorit TV advertisment as well.
The aircle went on that "you will start looking for a better job".
"Oh Jinji, Oh Jinji (Human Resorse Dept.)".
That's it!!!
For someone who dosen't know this TV advertisment.
At these days you can see the various advertisements on TV in Japan, some have no meaning but some have a message behind them, and some are touching but some are silly and they would impress you in a way.
One of my favorite TV advertisments is from a famous temp agent "Staff Service", wellknown as "Oh jinji, Oh jinji (Human Resorse Dept.)". In my understanding what this advertisment want to say is just phone up "Staff Service" when you are pissed off your company or boss or colleagues who drive you mad with unbelivable behavour, then "Staff Service" will help you out and inform you a "much better" job. You can see how madness goes on and will burst into laugh when you figure it out.
It's one of old-fashioned business culture that Japanese saraly men/women have to get along with kinda odd behavour others do at their office, coz it's an internal common sence and they have to put up with an incompetent boss too, all they can do is to cross their fingurs to get him away.
So this advertisment tell such people it's not necessary to be patient any more and encourage them to take an action and find out a "much better" job.
